What is it about

By on Oct 20, 2013

Hello, my name is Dmitriy and I have a very exciting project to share with you. What change could we see if people who already have knowledge and experience started sharing it? What would you feel if you could take a least one person from the deepest poverty and teach them how to be self-sustaining? I’m currently a part of a very successful IT company called Master of Code. At the very beginning of my IT career I learned frontend development and even though I’m now involved more in project leading and management, frontend development helped me find a goal and learn a lot. I want to share my knowledge and experience with others, especially with those who really need it. One way I’ve been meeting this personal goal is through Geekhub, an initiative in my home town which provides free IT skills development courses to kick start the careers of aspiring young developers. I’ve been coaching there for two years now. This winter the Mission Impossible project is sending a small team to Kolkata, India, in support of a local charity there which provides care, education and support for children living on the streets. Children living on the streets tend to become teenagers living on the streets who in turn become adults living on the streets; they don’t get a lot of opportunities to improve their position in life. The odds are stacked against them. How can they aspire to fuller lives, raising and supporting a family for example, when they have so few chances to move beyond their current situation? My great desire is to go as part of this team and to run a small IT class for teens there in Kolkata. This will be a three week course where students will learn the basics of front end development skills. At the end of the course they’ll be able to make basic websites and consider getting freelance jobs. This would be an amazing opportunity for them to change their lives for the better, to allow them to dream of futures in which meeting their own needs and even sustaining a family could become a tangible reality. Come and be a part of this dream; help me to spread the word of this project and to raise the funds to buy the required equipment. By putting our focus on the needs of others over and above ourselves, we can bring meaningful change to their lives. Thank you! Donate through Kreativity (please leave a note “MissionImpossible...

How Can You Help

By on Oct 20, 2013

There are two options you can be involved. We have a team of 10 people who are all fundraising to get the required budget to cover their trip expenses, that includes transfer, accommodation, tools and equipment costs to do various activities with kids while staying in India (that is at least $2K per person) the raised budget will determine the amount of activities. If you have a feeling you can support the team, please donate on this page: http://kreativity.org/donate.php (please put a note referencing “MissionImpossible Team” donation) . The second way is to help me hold the IT classes, your financial support will go to acquire the necessary equipment (laptops, projector, board etc), total minimum budget is $5K. Please donate on the same page http://kreativity.org/donate.php but referencing “MissionImpossible IT”. Your support is highly appreciated. Thank...
